Registration and fees
Do I have to pay to take part?
Yes. Best Diplomats conferences are self-funded and every participant pays a conference fee. Each conference offers a package without accommodation and one with accommodation, and most also offer a Basic package covering the committee sessions, ceremonies and certificate. The two full packages can be paid in full or in two instalments; Basic is paid in full.
How do I pay?
Online by credit or debit card, including American Express and Discover, or by bank transfer. Payment links are on each conference page under Fees and deadlines.
Are flights and visa fees included?
No. No package includes airfare, visa fees or insurance. Book flights directly with the airline or a travel agency.
Can I get a refund if I cannot attend?
Fees are not refundable in cash. If you have paid in full you may request a credit voucher or a transfer to another Best Diplomats conference under the conditions in the terms and conditions. A first instalment on its own is not refundable or transferable.
What happens if my visa is refused?
You can transfer your registration to another destination under the credit voucher and transfer policy. The Transfer Membership feature in the Best Diplomats app handles the request.
Before the conference
How do I get a visa invitation letter?
Invitation letters are issued only to confirmed delegates who have completed payment, and only through the official Best Diplomats app.
Do I have to use the Best Diplomats app?
Yes. The app holds your invitation letter, hotel pass where applicable and conference ID card, and gives you the discussion room for meeting other delegates and the announcement centre for updates.
Can I represent my home country?
Yes, if it is available in the list. You may also choose any other country in the list; you are still recognised as a delegate from your home country representing another nation in the simulation.
At the conference
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. Every participant receives a barcoded certificate of participation at the closing ceremony, provided they attended at least 80 percent of the committee sessions on the second day.
What do I gain from attending?
Networking across more than 120 nationalities, cross-cultural experience, and practice in negotiation, problem solving and leadership. Delegates work together on global issues and present their country's position to an international audience.
Groups and scholarships
Can a school or organisation send a group?
Yes. Groups of five or more get group rates, with one free teacher place for every ten paid students, one coordinator and one invoice. See group delegations.
Is there a scholarship?
Yes. The scholarship programme awards full and partial scholarships on merit, open to anyone.
